Electric Echos

At the heart of Israel's architectural heritage lies the Tiberias Power Station: an historic landmark and testament to industrial ingenuity.
“Electric Echos” transforms this historic space into a portal connecting our world to an unknown digital universe, populated with bizarre organisms, drawn to the emanating life force of the structure and its historical role.
Challenging viewers to see beyond the mundane, Electric Echos is an invitation to explore the boundless possibilities that lie at the intersection between imagination, history and technology.

About the Process
Combining VR sculpting and hard-surface modelling and working across a suite of different programmes including Gravity VR, Cinema 4D and Houdini, Electric Echos takes an historic landmark and reconstructs it within an atemporal 3D space.
Procedural landscapes generated in Houdini, mimic the actual topography of the land surrounding the plant at the time it was closed (back in the 1940s) and vellum simulations inject life into the abstract lifeforms that inhabit the space.
